Ecological construction supervision for the Gnutz-Nord cable route and wind farm

On behalf of erneuerbare energien europa e3 GmbH, we are accompanying two related projects: 

• The construction of four wind turbines and
• the construction of a new 9,500-metre medium-voltage cable route.

Our ecological construction supervision ensures compliance with all nature conservation requirements under the German Federal Conservation Act (BNatSchG) and the State Nature Protection Law (LNatSchG). 

In close consultation with project partners and clients, we implement all measures set out in the landscape conservation plans. Furthermore, we ensure that violations are prevented at an early stage.

Our focus in species and habitat conservation:

• Species management: The protection of open-area breeders and shrub- and tree-nesting birds (including deterrence measures and construction scheduling) as well as amphibians (in particular moor frogs) through weekly inspections, guidance structures and relocation measures.
• Surface and soil protection: Strict monitoring of approved working widths for cable routes and compliance with DIN 19639 for the correct removal, storage and restoration of topsoil and subsoil.
• Habitat conservation: Protection of hedgerows, woodlands, water bodies and ditches through compliance with species-specific periods excluding construction activities (for example, between 1 March and 30 September for woodlands).
• Restoration: Documentation of the professional removal and restoration of the surfaces, including re-seeding with seed mixtures typical of the site.

Through regular reports and in close consultation with nature conservation authorities, we ensure the professional and nature-friendly implementation of these important infrastructure projects.
